up on deck. the crew of two men and a woman complied. for hours the crew waved off any help from the coast guard and from police even when a helicopter drop add diver near the boat and delivered a radio to the boat so authorities could communicate with the crew. those on board refused to answer any of the radio calls. it appears now that the sky 7 is now overhead and we are watching as the coast guard surrounds this boat, pacifica police have a jet ski officer in the water. they have been on jet skis, the officers, and surrounding this boat for 30 minutes, driving around and assessing the situation, not getting too close but, again, ordering the crew on the boat to come off and to come up on deck. that is what is happening right now. for a lot of locals here, it has

been an amazing sight and for the coast guard, a lot of people thought the situation was suspicious from the get go. >> wouldn't you think if that had some navigation device like warning systems, you can see the mast is upgraded, someone was stoned or they didn't know what they were doing. >> we don't want help. we don't want to come off the ship. what do you think about that? >> there are suspicions but for that, we ask you to speak to the local law enforcement because the scope of the coast guard is just here to respond to the safety of those on board. ace police have surrounded the boat and police on jet skis appearing to go back in the water open their jet skis. it is unclear what the next move will be. the owner has arrived on the scene and is talking to the police about the boat which we

have confirmed was stolen from the sausalito yacht harbor overnight. this yacht has a price tag of $2.7 million and is available if charters for $30,000. the situation is still unfolding here. we will keep you appraiseed what happens next. >> incredible. san francisco police have a suspect in custody after a deadly shooting and a foot chase. police say a 21-year-old man was shot several times at this busy intersection of 3rd street just before 8:30 this morning. the victim died at the hospital. officers chased a suspect for several blocks before they actually captured the suspect. a gun was recovered two blocks away. the suspect is a 22-year-old man whose identity has not yet been released. >> another young man was killed in the south bay, campbell police are trying to find a gunman behind the first homicide since 2015. investigators try to determine a

motive neighbors know why there has been a spike in violence. amy hollyfield is live with the latest. >> police say they don't know the motive behind this killing but residents think the answer could be right here in the city's hand ball court. campbell police are doing something they haven't done in six years: investigating a murder. 18-year-old richard vega is the first murder victim since 2007 shot at 10:30 last night. police spent seven hours looking for evidence at the crime scene but have not made arrests and could use some help. >> any residents of the area who may have surveillance video outside the house who may have captured something, provide that to us. >> it is crazy. it is crazy. it is very scary. i have two boys and we walk down the street. we live here. to know this can happen outside my door, it is very scary. >> sandra is upset but fault

surprised. she has noticed an increase of traffic on her street, young men going to and from the community center across the street. >> i feel it is gang activity, period. the hand ball courts are open at night and she says a dangerous element gather here. her 8-year-old son used to hang out there until he was confronted by gang members. >> if you are different, they want to know what you are doing. >> campbell police do not know the motive behind the murder. at this point they don't think it had anything to do with the community center but the mayor says the community center deserves extra attention. >> i have heard from a number of residents there could be an issue so i have asked police to take the necessary action to review and address the issue. >> police again say they don't know the motive behind this murder but at this point there is no evidence to suggest that the victim is a member of a

gang. the the mayor says it could be a case of mistaken identity if a gang is to blame, one of the few scenarios they are considering. >> thank you, amy. police agencies an the bay area are investigating five fatal shootings involving their officers in a four-day span most recently in hayward yesterday own when police officers shot and killed a passenger in a car. investigators say an officer opened fire when the driver tried to ram a patrol car. the victim has not been victimmed. the driver is in custody. in the other shootings sonoma deputies killed a kidnapping suspect in guerneville on thursday. on saturday three died in police confrontations in san francisco, san jose, and union city. >> the series of officer-involved shootings is daze after the fatal shooting of two officers in santa cruz. this is a photo of detective

sergeant loran "butch" baker with his family. detective elizabeth butler is a ten-year veteran of the department was also killed. they were interviewing sexual assault suspect when he opened fire. he was later killed in a shootout with police. in san jose is where a motorcade procession will proceed with the memorial and will include vehicles from santa cruz police, the sheriff department, firefighters and emergency responders. we will broadcast the service live here on abc7 news. >> it is a possible breakthrough in the fight against h.i.v., a baby born with the virus is now 2 1/2 years old and has no sign of h.i.v. while it is encouraging, doctors say more tests are needed before it can be called a true cure. >> it is a landmark case that

could change h.i.v. treatment. the child born in mississippi to an h.i.v.-positive mother who had no prenatal care, was given relatively high doses of three antiviral drugs 30 hours after being born. the doctor who treated the baby talked about it. >> i did tests. as i started the drugs, there were two different tests showing in the next couple of days if we got results and that the baby was already infected. >> the child remained on the drugs for 15 months. then the doctor lost touch with the mother. what happened about a year later got the medical community's attention. >> the mom admitted she had not been giving the medicine for the past several months and i fully expected the babies numbers to go back up. but we drew the test, we got back, and still, undetectable. >> there was in trace of the

virus. >> at firsts i thought i had been treating a child not actually infected. >> after laboratory work was checked and double checked, the doctors from boston and baltimore were brought in to begin research. now, at 2 1/2 years, the child is functionally cured and no longer requires any medication. researchers from jones hopkins announced that early intervention was key to this outcome. >> we thing we can build upon thatment -- that platform. we can use the currently approved drugs for treating infection in infants to begin to copy this finding. >> this is not the first documented case curing h.i.v. in 2007. you may recall timothy brown was cured and he is known as the better lip patient. he was h.i.v. positive and battling leukemia and cured of both after he received a bone marrow transplant the. >> this would be the first if confirmed through just medication.

>> a small plane with gear problems is circling above a small airport in illinois trying to make an emergency landing. we have choppers following what is happening. eight people on board a lear jet and officials say they are prepared for an emergency landing. this is just outside of st. louis, missouri. ambulances and fire engines have been called to the scene. the pilot reported a problem with the landing gear an hour ago. they have been circling around and they determined something was wrong when they did a fly by. we will wait to see when and how they land that jet. >> the brother of a florida man who was swallowed by a massive sinkhole is questioning whether rescue teams did enough. right now wrecking crews are uncovering what we cannot see there is a huge sinkhole beneath the home 30' wide and 100' deep swallowing the bedroom with the

>> queen elizabeth is out of the hospital after a breathe stay for a stomach infection. the monarch left the central london hospital on her own today. the palace said they would be in the hospital for two days because of a severe stomach bug but she only stayed for one. she looks pretty good. all evens this week are canceled. this is the first hospital stay in 10 years. >> she is known for being so wealthy. >> and now, mike nicco. >> well get a little bit rain. it will be a problem for tomorrow evening's commute and wednesday morning commute. good morning, everyone, 11:19. and live doppler 7 hd show a lot of cloud cover with flight delays in sfo so call ahead. there is no rain falling from the clouds and it is the big storm you can see to the west keeping an eye on not only for

us but the area in blue, the western slope of the sierra, winter storm watch, and this starts tomorrow at 10:00 through thursday at 4:00. they will probably bring the time down a little bit as the storm is near but we are looking at a foot or 1.5' of snow. you can see from south beach to oakland and berkeley, 50 in san francisco and oakland, and 52 in san jose, and mid-50's for pleasanton and palo alto. san jose, you got all clouds right now, and temperatures in santa rosa, at 49, we are at 50 in napa and fairfield and livermore is 51 and fremont and gilroy, dress for 53. here is what i think will happen: cooler today, we will get some sunshine this afternoon, it will take some time but it will breakthrough. rain do showers is what we will have for tuesday, wednesday, and thursday, our coolest days in the forecast and a warming trend for the weekend, hopefully as warm as last weekend, and you notice all the pollen, i have a

black car. then it was lime green this morning because of the pollen. san mateo shows the peninsula, and san francisco today at one degree cooler and san jose two degrees cooler but we are six or seven or possibly eight degrees cooler in concord and fremont. today, it will be a struggle to get into the 60's with low 60's in the east bay valleys and most of us in the mid-to-upper 50's and i do not expect much sun at the coast, with the breeds coming off the ocean and keeping you in the low 50's and the clouds break up in time to cool us down in the mid-to-upper 30's inland and low-to-mid 40's elsewhere. here is the system, very mature looking system headed our way and when it does, it will bring some rain. we will talk about when it gets here. tomorrow morning, no worries for the commute, no worries for the lunch hour, and it is nut until 5:00 we start to see the steady rain start to move in the north bay and by 7:00 you can see it right along the 80 corridor from
